Robert J. Giombetti, M.D.
Clinical and Sports Neurology
Dr. Giombetti is a clinical neurologist who has practiced in West Los Angeles for over 25 years. He trained at University of Rochester as an undergraduate and medical student, and completed residency training in neurology at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. He is board certified and a member of the American Academy of Neurology and member of the Sports Neurology section. He has special interest in multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, headache, and low back pain. He has publications in mercury intoxication, pain, encephalopathy, as well as cerebral blood flow studies in sleep apnea and cocaine abuse. As a medical student he worked on ground reaction forces in knee injuries with Dr. Kenneth Dehaven, a pioneer in knee arthroscopy.
About three years ago, he began working with Dr. David Wright of Wrightbalance and has assisted in the development of new training processes. Neuroforce Golf installed a Swing Catalyst force plate and video system and completed the first detailed study of ground reaction forces in different player groups. Research efforts continue with current projects underway with Dr. Wright as well as Dr. Fran Pirozzolo and Chia Chou.
